RE:THINK DIALOGUE 2045

What It Is

RE:THINK DIALOGUE 2045 is an independent international initiative aimed at creating a space for new thinking about the future. It is not a forum or a conference. It is a closed visionary process — a prolonged intellectual dialogue in which representatives of various intellectual traditions, nations, and cultures test ideas for civilisational compatibility and formulate an alternative, non-conflictual vision of the world by the middle of the twenty-first century.

The process operates under the Chatham House rule: information may be used, but it is prohibited to disclose who expressed any particular idea.

SARAFAN methodology is a core working tool of the RE:THINK DIALOGUE 2045 process.

Why Now

At the beginning of the twenty-first century, the world faces not an ordinary cyclical downturn, but a profound structural conflict. On one hand, there are the richest historical and cultural resources of civilisations. On the other, there is an institutional architecture created for a previous era. Existing international organisations continue to function, but their ability to maintain balance is weakening: the trust deficit is growing, trade chains are being disrupted, and the bloc logic of sanctions and political pressure is increasing.

Under these conditions, RE:THINK DIALOGUE 2045 emerges as a prolonged intellectual process — a contour of compatibility within the SARAFAN project, connecting thinkers, practitioners, and entrepreneurs from the countries of the Primary civilisational belt.

How It Works

RE:THINK DIALOGUE 2045 is based on two key methods:

  1. Reverse Horizon Thinking — participants develop the desired image of the world in 2045 and work backwards to determine the necessary foundations for today.
  2. SARAFAN Methodology — a practical tool for translating visions and meanings into cooperative value chains, project models, and institutional formats.

The process is continuous. Meetings, forums, and summits are only the visible part of the work.

The First Event — Shanghai, June 2026

The first session of RE:THINK DIALOGUE 2045 takes place on 17–19 June 2026 in Shanghai, China (The House of Roosevelt, Radisson Collection Hotel).

Format: Three-day think-tank summit with 20–25 participants selected according to the principle of regional and professional balance. Closed, confidential format. Non-hierarchical atmosphere. Intensive laboratory with discussions, working tables, and methodological sessions.

Participants include: Strategists, visionaries, practitioners, and entrepreneurs from Eurasia, Africa, the Arab world, South and Southeast Asia, and Latin America — philosophers, engineers, economists, diplomats, cooperative leaders, lawyers, and cultural strategists.

Objectives of the Shanghai meeting:

  1. Form a network of leaders and practitioners — philosophers, engineers, strategists, lawyers, cooperators, cultural figures
  2. Apply Reverse Horizon Thinking to build a common vision of 2045 and identify priorities for 2026–2030
  3. Identify the first cooperative value chains: regional trade corridors, joint scientific and technological projects, cultural exchanges
  4. Test the SARAFAN.ID.PAGE digital platform as a tool for cooperation, trade, educational, and research networks

Key questions for discussion:

  • How can the countries of the Primary civilisational belt regain agency in a fragmented world?
  • What does it mean to plan from 2045 — and what values, institutions, and rules need to be laid down now?
  • In what way can civilisational values be translated into concrete legal forms, contractual mechanisms, and economic ties?
  • What should new forms of governance and participation look like in order to address planetary challenges: climate, logistics, knowledge production, solidarity?
  • What is the role of cooperatives, cities, universities, and networks of small enterprises in the post-bloc world?
